Overview

This product is supplied as a kit, not as a pre-filled cartridge. Everything needed to prepare a pen cartridge is included — the powder is shipped sealed and lyophilised, and is reconstituted by you at the point of use rather than by us before dispatch.

A reconstituted cartridge is a liquid preparation with a limited stable life, and transit conditions cannot be controlled. Supplying the compound dry removes that variable entirely: the material arrives in the state it was tested in, and the clock only starts when you mix it. Available in 5mg.

Research Focus

DSIP was isolated in 1977 from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits undergoing induced slow-wave sleep, and takes its name from the delta-wave EEG activity observed in those experiments. Early human work examined its influence on disturbed sleep, with published studies reporting shorter sleep onset latency and improved sleep efficiency.

Research interest has since extended beyond sleep, into stress-axis and corticotropin regulation, thermoregulation, analgesia, opioid withdrawal models and antioxidant activity — which is why the literature often describes DSIP as multifunctional rather than sleep-specific.

It is worth being clear about the state of the evidence: despite the name, DSIP’s status as an endogenous sleep factor remains unresolved. No corresponding gene, precursor protein or receptor has been identified, and findings across studies have been inconsistent — a 2006 review in the Journal of Neurochemistry characterised it as a still-unresolved riddle. DSIP remains an active subject of laboratory investigation rather than a settled one.

Returns

Kits are assembled to order. An unopened kit with all seals intact can be returned within 14 days — but once the vial, water or needle seal has been broken it cannot be accepted back on hygiene grounds, and anything already reconstituted cannot be returned.
